Lawrenceville, GA – Antoine Stroud took over the helm at Archer High last season and hit it out of the park.

Archer finished the season 21-9 before a Sweet 16 exit from the Georgia High School AAAAAAA state playoffs. The Tigers picked up a strong road win in the playoffs at Camden County before being eliminated by Pebblebrook.

This season, the Tigers have gotten off to a great start. Archer (3-0) undefeated with wins over Discovery, Central Gwinnett, and Northview. Archer’s defense has only allowed 43 points per game on the season. The Tigers are scoring 69 points per game.

Archer is on the prowl to move in a quest to make it a little further into the postseason through a new realignment. They are in AAAAAA Region 4, which includes familiar opponents from the last few years of Grayson, Newton, and South Gwinnett. Newly added foes are Grovetown, Heritage, and Rockdale County.

Stroud wants Archer to, “just play hard and let the chips fall where they may.”

He entered the season with a 77-45 career record. His individual accolades includes being Region 6-4A Coach of the Year (2021-22), the AJC All-Metro (Dekalb) Coach of the Year (21-22), and the Dekalb County Tip-off Club Coach of the Year. While his success has taken place in another school, Stroud is focused on getting his guys the accolades they would like. He has a bunch of hungry Tigers.

Leading the charge are Darius Styles, Nazier Sample, Dillion Martey, and Curtis Anderson. The newest Tigers are RJ Williams, Allan Ray, Cameron Gibson, and Kamal Green, who will add some depth and intensity to the roster.
