POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. – The buzz around the basketball world has been waiting to see the college basketball coaches out on the road recruiting.
On the Radar Hoops Session I had not only college coaches in the building but talented players. There were a number of players who had a chance to get seen in front of college programs still recruiting players. High school players have had a hard time getting offers because they have not had an opportunity to be recruited. OTR Hoops provides the platform to help players and programs compete against one another in front of these programs.
Let’s empty out the notebook to see which players made an impression.
Alex Doyle is a name anyone looking for a player needs to recruit. The 6-foot-9 forward is capable of playing inside and out. This 2022 DME Academy product is a marksman from the outside. He is the prototypical stretch four-man in this new age of basketball. In one of his final games of the weekend for Showtime Ballers, the Frenchman hit nine 3-pointers in the game. He does not just run to the corner looking to hit a shot from beyond the perimeter. Doyle makes his way outside gradually as the offense dictates. His jumper is nearly picture-perfect, which cuts through the net with a sharp snap. College programs are always looking for shooters. This young man is one you need to check on because his skill set translates.
Every travel season, Atlanta All-Stars coach Benji Miller goes out and selects players to be part of the program. The veteran coach makes it a point to find players who fit his style while bringing different things to the team. Every player brings something unique and different to the roster.
Things are no different this season.
The roster is filled with players, not just for every level, but with different skillsets. This year he has plenty of size in the frontcourt to go with a strong backcourt.
Atlanta All-Stars front line of Spencer Elliott, Dylan Faulkner, and Brigham Rogers. This trio was exceptional all weekend. Elliott is a 6-foot-9 forward, from St. Pius X, with the ability to step out and knock down jumpers. He can also take someone off the dribble. Programs like Mercer and Kennesaw State were impressed enough to extend offers. Falkner is an underrated 6-foot-8 forward, from Calhoun High, who loves to bang. He has great hands and will soon garner enough attention. Rogers, from Blessed Trinity Catholic, is a 6-foot-9 utility knife player. His skill set is high level.
This trio will help make the All-Stars have a successful summer and one to possibly remember.
Samuel Alexis made an impression from the opening tip of the weekend. The 6-foot-9 Apopka High product was an impactful bruiser inside. He showed the ability to extend the floor with his jumper from behind the 3-point line.
Something Alexis did exceptionally well was rebound and protect the interior on multiple possessions. His willingness to mix things up will be something a college program could use.
The unsigned senior remained consistent throughout the entire weekend. He has picked up an offer from New Mexico State but there is a chance he heads to prep school in the fall.
Every deck of cards has four aces. AOT has an Ace is No. 4.
His name is Ace Bailey. Well, his government name is Airious “Ace” Bailey.
The 6-foot-7 forward is easily one of the next prospects to come through the Jordan-brand-sponsored organization. He is a highly-skilled and uber-athletic player from McEachern High.
Bailey caught everyone’s attention early with some jaw-dropping plays and effort. There was one possession where he raced to the rim and nearly threw down a missed shot. It clearly looked out of his reach but because of his effort, there was a chance someone was going to be posterized.
This Class of 2024 prospect was the buzz of the weekend. There were several coaches watching the things he did on the court surprised. Several programs like Indiana, Missouri, and Cincinnati have extended offers during his Live Period debut.
