EMERSON, GA – After a 15 month hiatus, the college basketball coaches were about out on the road recruiting. This was their chance to see many prospects up close and personal.

The annual Georgia Basketball Coaches Association Live Camp happened over the weekend,. College coaches ascended down on the Lakepoint Sports  in Emerson. Games were scheduled on all 12 courts with coaches with eager prospects and college coaches with notepads looking for players.

Thrilled to be back

College coaches entered Lakepoint like it was Christmas morning. There were smiles on their faces. They shook hands, hugged peers and first-pumped each other as they have not seen each other in a long time. It did not matter were they spent just over a year sitting and watching video or attending Zoom meetings because of the global pandemic. They were unable to get out on the road and evaluate players since the world was at a standstill.

Georgia head men’s basketball coach Tom Crean said is best.

Here was one of many college coaches who filled the sidelines looking for players. The list below was just an example of the coaches who were in attendance. Some coaches even left other events and raved about the organization of the GBCA Live Camp.

The consensus by many coaches it felt good to be back out on the road recruiting.

Many of these same coaches will return this coming weekend as the second session will take place at the same location.
