OTR Breakout: Class of 2026

By Robert Alfonso Jr.

NORCROSS, Ga. – The annual On the Radar Hoops Breakout camp is the start of several opportunities to showcase their individual talents and skills before the start of the high school season.

This edition of the camp allowed some upcoming sophomores and incoming freshmen to separate themselves from many members of their class. Several players continued their performance from the summer, while others took advantage of the stage to shine.

Here is a list of players from the Class of 2026 we felt made an impact and left the Breakout buzzing.

Kota Suttle Jr. | 2026 | Wheeler is a name many will soon be talking about for the next few years. This combo guard has all the tools in becoming a sort after prospect. He has good length, size, skills, and toughness always suited for players at the school on Holt Road. His ability to play with pace shows a level of maturity. He is not always looking to make a home run play for himself. There were moments throughout the game where his motive was to get someone else a better scoring opportunity. The Wildcats will have this youngster ready to continue the lineage of players making noise wearing the uniform.

Derwin Hodge | 2026 | Wesleyan stood tall among the incoming freshman. Players come to camps looking to be a standout offensively. Hodge took a different approach. His presence was on the defensive end of the floor. He blocked or altered shots in every game possible. In order to be a proficient shot blocker timing is involved. Hodge’s timing is off the charts for a player so young,. His offensive game will soon catch up and develop over the next few years. Then opponents will have difficulty dealing with him on either end of the floor.

Malik Rideout | 2026 | Central Gwinnett is poised to carry the family name. The Black Knights rising floor general played with some grit. He gets into the lane, plays tenacious defense, and runs a program similar to his older brother, Jameel Rideout. The younger Rideout will carve his own identity in his own time.

Kayden Allen | 2026 | Grayson stood out in many ways. He shot the ball well in many of the games played. Shooting is something that came easy for him. His production was more of quality not quantity. The Rams may have another one to continue the legacy.

La Lewis | 2026 | Wheeler is the second half of the future backcourt on Holt Road. This nice-size combo guard gets into the lane like a bulldozer knocking over smaller buildings or in his case defenders. They bounced off Lewis, who finished through the contact. The finishing packet had solid results at the rim. He also knocked down jumpers into the lane. Time under the Wildcats system will have him looking really different by the start of the season.
