Young prospects shine at John Lucas All-Star Weekend

HOUSTON, TX – This years JL All Star Weekend was loaded with talent once again.

The annual event took place on March 4-6 in Houston, which premiered an outstanding eight grade bracket were outstanding. Despite not being able to see some of those matchups we had an opportunity to check in on much younger players.

These little dudes can ball.

Here is a list of outstanding prospects we saw excel. 

2026 | SF | Felipe Quinones (Puerto Rico Elite)

He was by far the most impressive player in the tournament. At 6-foot-5, he could do it all. Quinones played all five positions on the floor. He can stroke it from deep, put it on the floor, and has great post moves.
2026 | PG | Richie Rosa (Puerto Rico Elite)
He is a real poised PG that plans way beyond his years. He hit big shots and made terrific passes all weekend. Rosa’s IQ is off the chart.
2026 | SF | Mason Fuentas (Puerto Rico Elite)
He was a silky smooth wing that made big shots, including knocking down shots from beyond the NBA’s 3-point line all weekend.
2027 | G | Myles Fuentes (Puerto Rico Elite)
He was a seventh-grader playing up but you couldn’t tell by his game. Fuentes had handled the ball well and played with a good pace. He got wherever he wanted on the court.
2026 | PG | Jaylen Washington (JL3Elite)
This young man had a silky smooth game. He was exceptionally patient and got wherever he wanted on the court. Washington used his length and quickness well. He was a playmaker that could get his shot anytime he wanted.
2026 | SF | Isaiah Ward (SA Future)
He has good length at 6-foot-7 and is very active around the basket. His athleticism and energy on the boards are something to admire from a young player.
2026 | G/F | Mayson Thomas (SA Future)
A long 6-foot-5 wing that does a lot of things well. He’s good at slashing to the basket and finishing. Thomas is also efficient at pulling up and knocking down the mid-range shot.
2026 | F | Jalen Montonati of (TeamGriffin)
This young man was very impressive. He is a long 6-foot-7 skilled and tough wing. Montonati showed the capability to play all five positions on the floor.
2026 | G | Jonathan Adam (BLA Elite)
He plays like a grown man. Adam is a physical player and loves to carve out space inside. His energy is hard to match.
2026 | G | Joe Philon (BLA Elite)
He’s long with tremendous potential. His energy and enthusiasm were contagious, along with gravitating. Philon’s upside is one that will be tracked throughout his development.
2026 | PG | David Coe (Summitt Texas)
He has the body of an elite football player at 6-foot-1 and plays like it. His skill set will surprise you. Coe definitely is a baller being one of the more dominant players all weekend.
2029 | F | Meehkelle Marcus De Jesus (LivOn Bluechips)
He has good size with fantastic mobility and physicality.  This crafty lefty does most his damage around the basket.
2029 | G | Austin Hill (LivOn Bluechips)
This lights out shooter has range, which is incredible for his age.
2029 | G | RL Marks III (LivOn Bluechips)
His jet like quickness made trips to the basket simple. He is a good passer, but can be reckless with the ball. Marks is a solid on ball defender.
2029 | F | Cayman Washington (LivOn Bluechips)
He has good length and is physical. Washington is not afraid of making contact on the floor for positioning. He works extremely hard for his age.
2029 | G | Blake Irvin (Seattle Rotary)
He plays with great energy, quickness and guards with intensity. Irvin’s a decent ball handler but can get loose with the ball at times. He loves getting to the basket.
2029 | G | Donavan Frazier (Seattle Rotary)
This young lefty gets at it on the hardwood. He is all intensity from start to finish. Frazier plays the same way all the time. He’s a crafty scorer, that can knocks down the open jumper and guards from baseline to baseline.
2030 | G | Dante Aiken Jr (Seattle Rotary)
The little dynamo was a delight to watch all weekend. He has very good handles for his age and even knocked down the deep ball.
2030 | G | Anthony Thompson (Seattle Rotary)
This youngster is tough as nails. He was a straight up goon on defense.
