WOODSTOCK, Ga. – Playing in front of college coaches is important in the Spring. Many times it is a chance for coaches to see talented players of all levels and classifications in one gym.
This is also the opportunity for players to see show what many were not able to see.
The station work and the competitive games during the Southern Hoops Report Showcase gives players the platform it put on for the programs in attendance.
Here are some names of who may have taken advantage to grab someone’s attention while making a statement in front of 100 plus prospects.
Shaun Nichols | 2022 | The Heritage School | played well off the ball. This 6-foot-5 lefty guard can mix it up with or without the ball. He gets to any sport on the floor. There are few guards to are capable of handling his physical offensive approach. Nichols plays with poise.
Damoni Harrison | 2022 | Archer | is a high-energy player on the floor. He puts pressure on opponents on both ends of the floor. His in-your-face mentality is nightmarish for opponents, even in a showcase where most players are just trying to look good on offense. Harrison plays downhill and keeps opponents on their heels. He puts pressure on offensive players too. Whatever coach wants a player willing to play as hard as Harrison will enjoy having him on the roster.
Donovan Hand | 2022 | Fayette County | displayed plenty of athleticism during the showcase. At 6-foot-7 was made some explosive moves to finish at the rim. He is a solid defender. Running on the open floor allows him to put on a show. His athleticism makes him an exceptional defender where he is rejecting shots or alternating attempts.
Siblings playing the same sport can be fun to watch. The chemistry they show on the court is seamless, while their skills favor each other’s game. This is not different when it comes to a pair of Jack’s at Creekview High.
Seth Jack | 2023 | is not hard to miss. He is a wiry, lanky, and rangy 6-foot-6 shooting guard. The elevation and textbook form makes him hard to defend, once the shot is loaded. His ability to move without the ball. He has skills that exceed more than just shooting jumpers. This cerebral thinker has a good feel for the game. His feel for the game is something seen by many solid players at the next level.
Luke Jack | 2025 | (pictured above) was easily the most impressive young prospect in the gym. This wiry and lanky prosper has all the tools to be a problem to opponents. The 6-foot-3 floor general showed the ability to handle the ball, while displaying the poise to run a team. Jack can score from all three levels over the floor. Look for his development to put him in a special category of players in the class.
Julian Walker | 2023 | North Gwinnett | is a name many people will need to take a look at this spring and summer. The 6-foot-8 forward is high energy and extremely effective on both ends of the floor. This North Gwinnett prospect rebounds the ball well outside of his area. He has a nice touch around the basket. His skills will be needed next season, this spring, and summer.
Eduardo Hendricks | 2023 | Meadowcreek | flexed his muscles during all the games in and the stations. He played above the rim and finished with purpose. Not many defenders were looking to body up the rim bully. He is looking better with the touch around the rim. Hendricks is a solid rebound and looks to make winning plays.
Zak Thomas | 2023 | King’s Ridge | continued to show off the precision shooting displayed throughout the season. This guard knows how to get his shot off in every way possible. His feel for the game and IQ makes for great opportunities for him.
