Darius Perry has always had an idea what he was looking for in a college basketball program.
On Tuesday, he found a fit and committed to the University of Louisville after visiting August 3.
“I always had an idea where I wanted to go,” Perry said. “I feel a lot of kids already know where they want to go but would rather enjoy the process. Coming into my senior year that would weigh a lot on me. This takes the weight off of my shoulders.”
The 6-foot-2 point guard, from Powder Springs, Ga., also considered Georgia. Perry felt a connection to Cardinals head coach Rick Pitino. The Hall of Fame coach is a stickler about the little details.
“Seeing Pitino was like seeing my dad (Eric Perry) run practice,” he said. “That’s what I really liked because he is particular like my dad. Seeing him run practice in person it really grabbed me.”
