Nike EYBL Releases 2019 schedule

By Robert Alfonso Jr.

ATLANTA, GA – Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) has officially release its 2019 schedule Monday night. The premier sneaker league will still host July’s Peach Jam finale in North Augusta, South Carolina.

Since its inception in 2010, EYBL has challenged and changed the grassroots basketball world. The league continues to raise the bar to help challenge players while preparing many of them for the next level and possibly the National Basketball Association. EYBL will again feature 40 teams from the United States and Canada.

After hosting its annual director’s meeting in Las Vegas, Nike EYBL revealed there will be three stops in its circuit: Atlanta, GA (April 26-28), Indianapolis, IN (May 10-12) and Dallas, TX (May 24-26). These most noticeable absence is void of a stop in Hampton Roads, Virginia – the home of Boo Williams. North Augusta, SC, will continue hosting Peach Jam in July.

This season there will only be three Live evaluation periods, per the NCAA, only two in the April and July combined.

Some other changes are taking place on the court. EYBL will play 9-minute quarters, a 24-second shot clock, the use of the international three-point line and defensive three-second violations, also known as illegal defense.
