ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – DC Premier was not going to make any excuses.
Six healthy players showed up in Atlantic City and it managed to leave with the championship. DC. Premier beat Team Final Blue 69-64 to win the Atlantic Bracket of the Live in AC championship.
“We were at a disadvantage with numbers but we had to perform to the best of our abilities,” Prentiss Hubb said. “We had to get the job done.”
This is exactly what DC did collectively. It started with Izaiah James getting into the lane to score or find teammates on the perimeter. James finished a game-high 25 points.
Marvin Price, who was solid from the perimeter, knocked down jumpers at a rapid pace to chip in with 19 points. Hubb had a near double-double with 16 points and nine assists.
“We were determined to the championship,” Hubb said. “We were going to do what we needed to do.”
What Hubb and the others needed to do was find away to slow down Team Final’s point guard Daron Russell. The lightning quick floor general was getting to the rim at will or finding open teammates. He finished with 22 points, while Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree added 16 points.
