Underclassman All-American Game notebook

By Staff

Atlanta, GA – The annual Underclassman All-American Game never disappoints. It has assembled some of the most talented rising prospects in several classifications for seven consecutive years.

This year’s lineup of 2026, 2027, and 2028 players lived up to the expectations left by the previous year’s participants. The action inside Holy Innocents Episcopal gym left us with plenty to evaluate. Here is the list of players we enjoyed watching on the hardwood.

2026 Chris Washington, 6’7, F, The Villages

Washington is a long and skilled player with tremendous athleticism. He moves well defensively and shows a willingness to guard the perimeter. His jumper showed consistency from long range. He allowed the game to come to him comfortably. Washington’s potential is far from being reached.

2027 Baba Oladuton, 6’8, F, Dematha

Oladuton has a winning mentality doing all the little things from sprinting the floor and rebounding with a purpose. He is relentless at getting to the basket mixing in jumpers along the way. His length, skillset, and motor helped him create off the bounce while shooting over defenders. He finished as the co-MVP.

2026 Moustapha Diop, 6’10, F, The Walker School

Diop’s game and skills continue to grow. He plays with his back to the basket and face-up game. His game is straight line using his length and strength through all contact. He is explosive with a good touch inside. While Diop was on the perimeter, he was still a rim protector and rebounder.

2026 Sinan Huan, 6’10, F, Windermere Prep

Huan has been a rising prospect since his arrival to the States a year or so ago. His game continues to shine through development. He put it all on display throughout the day. Huan is allowing the game to come to him while also being aggressive on both ends of the floor. He is taking control of the paint and the confidence is growing. His timing has improved where he was altering shots if not blocking them completely. The strides he has made will only continue to improve with the time spent in the gym.

2026 Keiner Asprilla, 7’1, Don Bosco Prep

Asprilla is a physically imposing and active big man on both ends of the floor. His ability to play below the rim is masterful. He takes up space defensively while altering shots. Once he gets in the way it is difficult for a defender to get through him. His hunger for rebounding minimized second-chance opportunities.

2026 Devin Hutcherson, 6’4, G, Holy Innocentw Episcopal

Hutcherson had a breakout high school season. Based on how he played during the showcase do not expect for it to fall off. He is ready to take on the leading role as his comfort level grows. Hutcherson is a gamer who can fill out at any given moment. It does not matter if he leads or partners alongside another talented player, he will deliver in every way possible.

2026 Deron Rippey Jr, 6’0, G, Blair Academy

Rippey was one of the craftiest lead guards. His tight handle helped him navigate through traffic. He did a great job of playing with pace and not allowing the pressure to speed him up or get him into traps. Rippey manipulated defenders with his eyes before finding open teammates in passing lanes.

2027 Scottie Adkinson, 6’4, G, Webster Grove

Adkinson is a skilled lefty with impressive athleticism. He created his offense comfortably. There was good consistency and range with his jumper. He filled out the stat sheet with his passing ability and court awareness. His fearless approach helped him finish around the attention and size in the lane.

2026 Maximo Adams, 6’7, F, Junipero Serra

Adams showed the ability to score both on and off the bounce. His athleticism was eye-opening from the first possession. He created plays for others by just going after rebounds and kickouts. Adams was rewarded a few times to then finish with a thunderous dunk. He was the co-MVP after his outstanding performance.

2027 Kevin Savage, 5’9, PG, Wheeler

Savage came in with the reputation of a scoring guard with plenty of poise. He lived up to those expectations playing on and off the ball in a multi-point guard system. This allowed him to show off his feel for the game. He passed the ball with precision. His handle was on a string. He nailed mid-range jumpers with consistency. Savage shoots it well off the bounce and in catch situations.

2026 Jalan Wingfield, 6’7, F, Tri-Cities

Wingfield was spectacular throughout the entire showcase. He was determined to show his name will be heard beyond the weekend and into the future. His size helped him dominate inside while his skills displayed the perimeter game. He can put the ball on the ground and get to the basket. Wingfield did not let the defensive effort get lost in his offensive success.

2027 James Rivera, 6’10, The Academy of Central Florida

Rivera’s length and skill is effective on both ends of the floor. The Puerto Rican native is a catch-and-shoot player who puts the ball on the floor. He showed the ability to push the ball up the floor and lead the break. Impressive skills for a player adjusting to playing on stateside. He finishes well around the rim without being a traditional post player.

2027 Tre Keith, 6’2, G, Tri-Cities

Keith is coming off a strong freshman campaign. He propelled himself into the conversation as one of the best players in the class across the state. His ability to score on all three levels was impressive. He dove deep into his bag and showed the ability to run a team dropping dimes or getting others involved with the offense. His skills will add him to the long list of players coming out of Point Guard High.
