On the Radar Hoops Session I notebook

By Robert Alfonso Jr.

Marietta, Ga. – The basketball Live Period is what everyone has been waiting for all season. This is a chance for college coaches to evaluate rising high school prospects in some intense matchups.

Here are the players who stepped up in Session 1. Look at which players made a splash at the On the Radar Hoops showcase event during the first session.

Christian Flores | 2023 | Sunshine Elite

Flores is easily one of the more undervalued floor generals in Florida. This young man has a nice feel for the game. He can get into the lane while playing with an interchanging pace. This Puerto Rican native has exceptional court vision. He is a knockdown shooter capable of mixing things up. Any program looking for a leader on the floor needs to check on Mr. Flores.

Khalil Green | 2024 | Team Dickerson Black

Green is truly in the conversation for one of the top point guards in Georgia. Playing the game at a different pace regularly helped him stand out. He is a competitor on both ends of the floor. Sometimes he found ways into the paint to find others or score opportunities for himself. He has pinpoint precision passes. His recruitment will continue to tick upward as the season goes on.

Justin Mitchell | 2024 | Team Scoot

A big guard with a great motor. Mitchell plays going downhill at a physical pace. He knows how to change directions while also being able to find teammates in scoring situations. The two-sports athlete absorbs contact with the ability to finish in traffic. His game is a good mix of physical and finesse.

Jalen Lee | 2024 | Team Dickerson Black

One of the strongest players in the class, Roc Lee is a compact and strong player. He is physical on an off the ball. The way he handles the ball makes him a tough combo guard. There are few defenders who can take him out of rhythm. He mixes it up inside and out. Lee knocks down shots either in the lane or beyond the three-point arc. His game will continue to attract many more college coaches throughout this travel season.

Edward Wiggins | 2024 | Tony Bradley Elite

Wiggins is impressive watching him in transition on both ends of the floor. He is a long and athletic forward, who makes an impact as a 6-foot-7 forward. His length on the defensive end of the floor helps alter and reject shots. He is efficient running the floor and finishing above the rim. Wiggins is an elite athlete on both ends of the floor.

Elijah Fermaint | 2025 | Powerhouse Elite Bulls

Shooters shoot. Fermaint is a shooter to keep track of on the recruiting trail. This West Orange High product gets his shots off smoothly. He went on a stretch of hitting five to six shoots, four nailed from the three-point line. Fermaint can also put it on the floor and get to the basket. His skill set is a valuable interest for many college programs.

Andre Dupree | 2026 | SBA Warriors 2026

Here is a name many will learn about long before his senior year. Dupree is a hard-nosed player who can get downhill and in the lane whenever he wants to run the offense. His desire to play defense was impressive enough to cause disruption. He will continue to grow throughout this summer because he is playing for a bigger purpose.

Miller Moody | 2025 | Team Scoot

At first glance, it is hard to miss Moody. He is a 6-foot-9 forward who looks great in a tank top. But he’s not just some physical specimen. Moody pulls down rebounds in traffic or outside of his area with relative ease. His ability to finish inside with the array of moves was impressive too.

James Fason II | 2026 | AE5 Gold

This rising sophomore was solid all weekend. He was active around the glass on both ends of the floor. His footwork and hands allowed him to set the tone for the defense. Fason contributed in every aspect. He impacted the game more without the ball needing to be in his hands. His growth will be fun to watch as it develops throughout the travel season.

Marcis Ponder | 2026 | Team Breakdown

A big 6-foot-11 prospect is always on a college basketball coach’s wish list. They want one who moves well, rebounds, and is capable of dominating the interior. Well, make sure to take note of Mr. Ponder. This young man has all the tools to make a big impact in the class. He has great hands and feet. His ability has set him apart from other players this past weekend.

Wyatt Thomason | 2026 | SEBA Warriors 2026

After just a few trips up the floor, one can see Thomason is a basketball player. The wiry North Cobb Christian product is long with good range on the jumper. As you watch him go through screens or being able to fight off double teams, Thomason is capable of getting his shot off with comfort. He hits mid-range and has depth on the range. An underappreciated part of his game is his court vision. He put passes on a dime.

Kentrel Agnew | 2026 | Tier 2 Elite

The ability of a true point guard is understanding how to run a team. Agnew’s performance shows he knows the responsibilities required and the skills needed to be a quality floor general. There were moments he was directing the offense like a veteran. He makes solid decisions and is not rattled by much pressure. The court vision and leadership skills he has now will continue to grow throughout every game this season.

Javar Bowden | 2026 | Panhandle Elite

Bowden was impressive with his energy and athleticism. The Bay High product is a wing that understands how to finish through contact. His footwork around the paint is smooth and he knows how to just carve out space. He crashed the boards to control both ends of the floor.

Anthony LoPresti | 2026 | SBA Warriors 2026

Shooter shoot and players play. LoPresit is a little bit of both. Whenever his team needed a basket the forward found a way to deliver. He makes things happen off the ball and on the ball. His continued development of extending the floor with his jumper. Bright future ahead for this young man who has been around the game for a long time.

Emerson Mitchell | 2026 | Tier 2 Elite

Mitchell walks onto the court with a load of confidence. This 6-foot-2 guard is not concerned about who is guarding him or whomever the team is playing. He steps onto the hardwood looking to stand out in every way possible. This mindset helped set him apart from his opponents. He scores the ball well and is a solid shooter. More to watch with his development.

Desmond Harrington | 2027 | Atlanta Celtics

Harrington is not easy to miss on the court. At 6-foot-6, this young man has all the tools few players have at his age. He is long, with a motor. His ability to pass out of double teams or make moves inside showed he understands the game. The feel for the game is important. Once Harrington’s game continues to develop, he will truly garner enough attention that opponents may not have an answer for him. This weekend teams experienced this playing against him.
