UAA Finals championship matchup set

Canada Elite’s Thon Maker is averaging a double-double during the UAA Finals. Now, he looks to lead the to a UAA championship.

SUWANEE, GA – The Under Armour Association championship will be settled today.

Canada Elite and Team Charlotte finished the UAAA regular season tied for first. At 6pm tonight, one of them will take the championship home.

Here is a breakdown on how the teams got here.

Top-seeded Canada Elite went through 1Nation, Team Breakdown and Mo Williams Academy. Canada is averaging 61.6 points a game. The neighbors of the North have put together a team effort to beat MWA.

Canada is shooting 43 percent from the field and 33 percent from the 3-point line. Leading the way is Thon Maker with a double-double (18.3 points and 12 rebounds). Godwin Boahen is averaging 14 points a game during the Finals.

Team Charlotte’s road to the title game was no walk through the park. The North Carolina-based organization survived games with SYF Players, Atlanta Xpress and DC Premier. Charlotte needed overtime to beat DC.

Ty-Shon Alexander leads Charlotte in scoring at 14.7 a game. Joshua Howard has chipped in with 10.3 points a game. As a team, Charlotte is scratching its way to victories as it has pulled down 36 rebounds a game, while dishing out 8.7 assists.
