Jr. Prelude Session I standout center

Cordova, TN – The basketball game continues to evolve with more and more players capable of regularly handling the ball and shooting it from the three-point line. While everyone focuses mostly on guards the center position is evolving too.

Every program is always looking for size inside but hardly uses the tallest player on the floor. These players are evolving too. They are anchoring the middle defensively and are capable of stepping out to shoot the ball from 15 feet to 19 feet out.

Daniel’s consistent play all weekend. His 6-foot-8 presence walking through the gym has opponents wondering when they will play his team. Then he steps on the floor and has many players second guessing getting a shot off against him. Daniel’s game favors former NBA player Ben Wallace.

Williams’ game is further along than many players his age. He can finish inside off both shoulders and has a soft touch around the rim. Williams also showed he could bring the ball up the floor and at times took it to the rim scoring through contact. Once he gets into the weight room and becomes more explosive, Williams game can evolve into current Cleveland Cavaliers player Jarrett Allen.

Pominnek is a walking double-double after the first session. His motor helped him really gave him a tremendous advantage over the other players. He can stretch the floor with his jumper. Pominnek’s game is similar to that of former Kansas legend Raef LaFrentz.

Gleaton is everything every program needs. A player who wants to do all the dirty work. He does not need any offense to run through him because he will get every rebound within his reach. If he is unable to get it Gleaton will chase it down. His offense will come along with maturity and development. This two-sport athlete resembles former NFL player Anotonio Gates, who played basketball at Kent State.

McGowan is the ultimate rim protector at a young age. He has impeccable timing and will meet players at the rim. His offensive skill but that is perfectly fine. He has an important part of the game down pack right now. It takes players a while to embrace playing defense. His game will be valued highly through maturity. McGowan’s game resembles current Orlando Magic player Wendell Carter.
