GBCA Live: Seniors leaving an impression

By Robert Alfonso Jr.

EMERSON, GA – June Team Camp has come to a conclusion.

Team camps are complete. Both GBCA Live events were a success. Everyone had a chance to see where they were as players and as a team.

Nathaniel’s game is growing

Jayce Nathaniel is one of the more sought-after dual forwards in Georgia. The 6-foot-8 forward has garnered and earned offers from college programs across the country. Many of them are enamored with the Lanier High product’s length, athleticism, and motor.

He gave those still intrigued by him something more to enjoy. Nathaniel has added consistency to his jumper and range to his game. During his weekend performances, the Class of 2024 product nailed shots from all over the floor with confidence and comfort.

College coaches nodded in approval with all the shots he hit. They also saw his focus on being on the perimeter did not diminish his defensive effort, motor, or willingness to post up inside. He also encouraged his teammates throughout the game.

Nathaniel holds offers from Appalachian State, Cincinnati, Georgia, Georgia State, New Mexico State, and Jacksonville State.

Lue shows off the complete package

Playing a complete game is something many coaches have wondered about Braedan Lue. He sure quieted anyone who had questions.

The 6-foot-6 small forward was locked in all weekend. He scored from all over the floor and competed at a high level. His game is described as powerful with his thunderous dunks. Lue has a soft touch around the rim and from the perimeter. He even nailed a game-winning jumper to lead Alexander High into the finals of their bracket play.

His offers are from Chattanooga, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, North Carolina A&T, Western Carolina, and Missouri State.

Moore is coming

Finally, Will Moore is back.

This sounds a little exaggerated but just ask the West Forsyth product yourself. He has become one of the hottest prospects in the state. Moore continued his sizzling efforts for the second consecutive weekend in the GBCA-sponsored Live period.

Moore, who missed the entire junior season due to injury, showed off his elite-level shooting. The time off did not hamper his touch or explosion. This 6-foot-6 shooting guard finished above the rim a few times. The smile curling on his face showed he is in a healthy and happy space.

His offers are from Alabama, Indiana State, Ohio, South Alabama, Tennessee Tech, Tulane, Western Carolina, Winthrop, Georgia State, Marshall, Jacksonville, and Southern Illinois.

White makes a splash for Mountain View

The common question among college coaches over the weekend was, “Who is that kid in black?” These coaches were watching Mountain View and asking about Michael White, who was running the time like a true floor general.

White has a great mix of facilitating the offensive while also demonstrating superb scoring skills. The 6-foot-3 point guard is strong and physical. He can get to the rim whenever possible creating scoring opportunities for himself and others. White led the Bears to the bracket championship after averaging 18 points a game over the weekend. His recruitment is currently slow but look for things to pick up. Reinhardt University extended an offer to him after seeing his performance.
