ATHENS, GA – Our third stop of the team camp series continues with a stop at Georgia Team Camp.
Teams, who attended the previous other camps, found themselves in Athens looking to make some noise and an impression. Several players managed to catch the attention of those in attendance.
Here are those players who showed they were ready to be noticed.
Year in and year out, Grayson has always put together nationally strong basketball teams. While it is just the start of the summer, the Rams looked ready to make their annual push into the playoffs.
CJ Hyland pushes the ball up the floor and kept his foot on the gas running Grayson’s offense. The Western Carolina commit showed solid court vision creating easy scoring opportunities. Amir Taylor established his presence inside. This rising junior made plays inside on both ends of the floor. His shot has allowed him to extend his game beyond the three-point line. These two will continue to shine this summer.
Add Anthony Alston, Kayden Allen, and Ahmad Clark to the mix, along with other players on the floor Grayson is piecing together another solid team. Alston is an excellent complement to Hyland at the guard spot. Alston is a tenacious defender who is adding to his offensive repertoire. This will add to Ram’s offensive depth. Clark, who missed all of last season per transfer rules, was effective on the glass. He showed off his athleticism and gives the Rams another active interior player. Allen has transformed and is gaining confidence with every trip down the floor. Look for the rising sophomore to become an intricate piece to Rams’ success.
Pebblebrook summer plans are for players to play through mistakes. These Falcons played through whatever challenges they faced and it worked. These players grew up when faced with adversity.
Caleb Thomas is growing into a trustworthy floor general. He is not only leading in running the offense. The Class of 2025 product is more vocal on both ends of the floor. His leadership will be pivotal to the Falcons’ success. Another intriguing prospect is Cam Smith. Every time he is on the floor you can see his game maturing. There is a level of confidence displayed on the floor because of the time spent in the gym.
The MLK Lions’ Devin Bowers (pictured above) stood out for his performance on the floor. Bowers showed some athleticism and mental toughness in a highly contested game. His ability to handle pressure and double teams was impressive. He shot the ball well with his mid-range. Interesting follow moving forward.
Moustapha Diop is one of the most talked about post players in the state. The 6-foot-9 post player with a skill set that will garner attention from a number of college programs. This Class of 2026 product is a relentless defender with a great motor, who gives The Walker School a tremendous inside presence.
Ethan Crews had a tremendous shooting performance of the weekend. The Class of 2025 Easley, South Carolina product nailed shots from all over the floor. He moved without the ball and connected at an efficient rate.
Cedar Grove has a prospect on the rise in Emmanuel Green. The 6-foot-6 Green is long, physical, and skilled. He can play both inside and outside. This combination helped him have a solid freshman season for the Saints. It is carrying over into the summer. He will continue to garner attention as his time in the weight room is transforming his body.
