By Robert Alfonso Jr.

Marietta, GA – Buford (6-2) used up a combination of intensive man-to-man defense and 3-point shooting to hold off McDonough in a showcase game at Lemon Stree Classic.

The Wolves, who are on a six-game winning streak, got some timely shooting from several players on the roster. Senior forward David Burnett sealed the game late with some free throws. His shooting and timely defense throughout the contest helped him lead Buford in scoring with 13 points.

Another senior, Davis Chruch, drilled three baskets from beyond the arc to stall any WarHawks comeback or run. He finished with nine points. Junior Brennan Wanslery scored eight points. Chase Robinson, a junior, open the game with a deep 3-pointer. He then sealed it with a jumper late in the fourth finishing with six points.

McDonough found itself up against the ropes several times. The WarHawks’ defense kept them in the game. Players were flying up and down the floor while also getting on the floor because every possession could play a big part in the game. McDonough (7-1) fell short in the end.
