Tip-off Notebook Day 2

By Robert Alfonso Jr

SUWANEE, GA – The second day of the Tip-off Classic was exactly what Saturday in July should feel like on the hardwood. There were big time performance provided by known prospects and more notable programs showed why they are the talk of the travel season.

However, the show of all performances tool place at Denmark High Saturday night. This is where the stars took to the basketball court in grand fashion. This is where E1T1 led by Bruce Thornton and Dillon Mitchell were playing We All Can Go led by Mikey Williams and Robert Dillinghma. A packed house got a chance to see tomorrow’s stars today.

Here are the those who made an impression.

The buzz all weekend was The Show game talking place between WE All Can Go and E1T1. Both teams are loaded with talent and brought a crowd to Denmark High.

Florida-based E1T1 won 112-90 based on their balance scoring. Ohio Stat commit Bruce Thornton led them with a team-high 16 points. Dillon Mitchell and Taylor Hendricks add 15 points apiece. Brice Senseabaugh chipped in with 10 points.

The crowd was there to see Mikey Williams. The California native has more than three million followers on Instagram. They all wanted to a chance to see the Class of 2023 prospect. He finished with 29 points, mostly from the free throw line. However the crowd did get their wish as he delivered two superiorly athletic dunks in the waning seconds of the game. Robert Dillingham finished with 17 points.

Put some respect on their name

Brice Senseabaugh is a scoring machine who can light things up. The 6-foot-6 forward is an under appreciated athlete. He can get to the basket whenever he likes while also being able to score the ball. He is a player college coaches would have to see plenty of to love. He has offers from Cincinnati, Florida, Virginia Tech, Mississippi, Indiana, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Xavier, and Georgia Tech.

Cooper Haynes has the nose to score the basketball. The 2024 Briarcrest Christian School product scores it at a high clip. He poured in a smooth 34 points in Team FIFA’s win over the 16U Georgia Stars, 59-53. The Louisiana native has offers from Mississippi, Memphis and Jacksonville.

London Johnson demonstrated on why he is a highly coveted prospect. The 6-foot-4 point guard is a smooth leader on the floor. He never looks rattled or befuddled handling pressure. He just makes plays. July is here and when more programs get to see him they will also walk away impressed. Clemson, Florida, Western Carolina, NC State, Auburn, Alabama, VCU and others.

Jelani Hamilton is a star in the making. This 6-foot-6 point guard has made changes to his game and body. All which are positives to his progress. He makes all the plays on the floor from the point with his eyes. There were several plays made all weekend where his eyes found players who were surprised they were seen. College programs need to lock their eyes on this prospect.

Jamauri Sands showed every high powered program needs a shooter. The rising junior was locked in from the perimeter for E1T1. He drained several jumpers off the bounce and dribble to get himself going. Then he started airing it out from three-point range. One jumper after another help the Florida-based EBYL team extend their lead on any opponent.

Chance Morrish showed why New York guards are tough to handle. The 2022 St. Francis Prep product had the ball on a string. He is an elite finisher at the rim with the ability finish on all three levels. Morrish left an impression to many who walked away playing against him.
