Capital District Classic will feature some solid girls basketball players

ALBANY, NY – New York’s State capital is easily becoming a destination stop for some of the states premier talent.

Sixty of the Capital Region’s best and brightest high school girls basketball players will play in the inaugural The Capital District Classic at Rensselaer High on Saturday, October 24. The Fabulous freshman game starts at 3 pm followed by the Super Sophomore and Upperclassman game respectfully.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 10-17. Children under 9 are free. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to ToLife! to support the fight against breast cancer.

This inaugural showcase is being put on by Positive Impact New York. PINY created the event to give the Capital Region student-athletes an elite environment to demonstrate and improve upon their individual skill level. This atmosphere will render a true reflection of where each players skill level against their peers. PINY is bridging the gap between youth basketball while providing an improved platform for competitive exposure.

There will be players from all over the region as it represents some of the best travel teams in the area the Albany City Rocks, Albany Lady Stars, New York Havoc and Albany Capitals.
