A team with balance is hard to beat. Finger Lakes Elite has the balance every program looks for throughout the year.

On Sunday, the Elite needed everyone’s contribution and overtime to capture the 17U Finger Lakes girls’ championship 60-53 at New York Chiropractic College. There was no easy road to get this victory.

“Everyone on the team can contribute,” Finger Lake coach Jay Lauer said. “Everyone can score and play defense.”

An example of this was Sarah Tyler. The Newark High product scored the opening basket in overtime and assisted on another to help push the Elite lead in the extra session.

Jori Pistritto, led the Elite from Victor High, who finished with 16 points. Palmac’s Abby Halsey added 11 points
